Scope
Technical report restricted to matters of direct concern to the road user (not engineering aspects), reviewing the visual effectiveness of road signs through four aspects: conspicuity, legibility, comprehensibility, and credibility. Includes variable message signs, retroreflection, environmental conditions, and sign maintenance (144 pages, 36 figures, 15 tables). Successor work to CIE 035 (Lighting of Traffic Signs).
