Scope

In-force EU type-approval rules for Driver Drowsiness and Attention Warning (DDAW) systems. The system monitors driver drowsiness and warns via the vehicle HMI, activating above 70 km/h in day and night conditions, with the warning triggered at a drowsiness level on the Karolinska Sleepiness Scale. Specifies permissible visual/audible/other warning modalities and human-participant validation procedures.
