Scope
In-force EU type-approval rules for Advanced Driver Distraction Warning (ADDW) systems. Requires monitoring of the driver's gaze direction and warning when the driver's gaze dwells in a defined distracted area beyond threshold times (e.g. >6 s at 20-50 km/h, >3.5 s above 50 km/h); activates above 20 km/h, day and night; warning is visual plus acoustic and/or haptic. Includes test-track and driving-simulator validation procedures.
