Scope
Part of Euro NCAP's 2026 Safe Driving methodology. Specifies test and assessment methods for keeping the driver engaged: continuous eye- and head-tracking for distraction and drowsiness/fatigue detection, identification of drug/alcohol impairment signs, linking driver-state information to ADAS sensitivity, HMI design that reduces gaze diversion and over-reliance on automation, and safe-stop response when the driver is unresponsive.
