Scope
Specifies the definition, classification, functions, human-machine interface and test methods for lane departure warning (LDW) systems for passenger and commercial vehicles. The system monitors the vehicle's position relative to lane boundaries and alerts the driver via multimodal warnings on unintended departure. Excludes road sections with temporary or irregular markings such as construction zones.
