Scope
Specifies the design of the H-point machine (HPM-II) and the procedure for using it to audit a vehicle seating position, establishing the actual H-point (hip pivot point of a seated occupant) and torso angle. Provides the physical reference tool used to relate a measured seating position to the manufacturer's seating reference point (SgRP) and design torso angle, which underpins eyellipse and reach/sightline packaging of the driver workstation. Supersedes the H-point/R-point procedure of the older ISO 6549.
