Scope

KNCAP, administered by MOLIT and operated by KOTSA, rates new cars across crash, pedestrian and accident-prevention safety. The accident-prevention domain assesses driver-facing ADAS: AEB (pedestrian/inter-urban/city), Lane Departure Warning (LDWS) and Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS), Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Blind Spot Detection (BSD). FCW/LDW were added in 2013 and AEB/BSD/LKAS expanded from 2017; AEB weighting was later raised so a top overall grade is hard to attain without AEB as standard.
