Scope
Recommended Practice specifying minimum requirements for adaptive cruise control (ACC) operating characteristics and elements of the driver user interface (status indications, controls, time-gap selection, alerts). Applies to OEM and aftermarket ACC systems for passenger vehicles; excludes heavy vehicles and stop-and-go ACC variants.
