Scope
Recommended Practice giving test protocols and performance requirements for camera monitor systems (CMS) intended to replace statutorily required inside and outside rear-view mirrors on U.S.-market road vehicles. Retains harmonization with FMVSS 111 rear-visibility by defining required roadway fields of view as specific displayed fields of view, and specifies optical, electrical, mechanical, and functional test methods. Directly governs the driver's mirror-replacement rearward view.
