Scope
Recommended Practice defining common data-output formats, data-element definitions, a minimum data-element set, and a common record format for an automated driving system (ADS) data logger, capturing events meeting trigger thresholds for Level 3–5 features per SAE J3016. Provides the background of events leading to a crash or crash-like event in the absence of a human driver, intended for use alongside the J1698 EDR record in reconstruction analysis.
