Scope

Recommended Practice specifying the H-point machine (HPM) and associated three-dimensional manikin devices used to establish the driver (and centre/passenger) seating reference point and to measure passenger-compartment seating accommodation from a deflected seat contour. Underpins driver-package geometry, eyellipse placement, and reach/field-of-view standards. Defines installation procedure, seat-cushion-angle measurement, and HPM calibration; not a measure of occupant comfort or capability.
