Scope
Draft UN Regulation establishing approval requirements for Driver Drowsiness and Attention Warning systems that monitor a driver's level of drowsiness and warn the driver via the vehicle HMI when drowsiness is detected. Vehicles with max design speed at/below 70 km/h are exempt; drowsiness measured against the Karolinska Sleepiness Scale (KSS). Submitted to WP.29/AC.1 for the March 2026 session.
