Scope
Approval of the speedometer and odometer equipment of categories L, M and N vehicles and its installation. Specifies accuracy of indicated speed (the display must never read lower than true speed) and requires the speed display to be located within the driver's field of vision and legible by day and night, plus minimum odometer numeral counts visible/accessible to the driver. Governs the primary speed feedback the driver relies on for speed regulation.
