Scope

Sets the test procedures and technical requirements for intelligent speed assistance (ISA) under GSR2. An ISA system must comprise a speed limit information function (SLIF) plus either a speed limit warning function (SLWF) or a speed control function (SCF). Permits several driver-warning configurations — visual plus cascaded audible, visual plus cascaded haptic, or purely haptic. SLIF accuracy is verified by a 400 km on-road test across urban, non-urban and motorway roads, requiring correct speed-limit determination over at least 90% of the distance. The driver may always override or switch the system off.
