Scope
Recommended Practice establishing methods for describing and measuring the driver's direct and indirect fields of view and the extent of obstructions within them. Defines three methods: a single pair of eye points for an individual driver; the SAE J941 eyellipses to bound the field for a given percentage of the driving population; and specific J941 eye points for a particular field or obstruction. Used to evaluate pillar obstructions, mirror coverage, wiped/defrosted areas, and display placement.
