Scope
Recommended Practice describing design criteria for the location and labeling of hand controls (including embedded displays/controls) necessary to or frequently used during operation of left-hand-drive passenger cars, MPVs, and trucks of 10,000 lb GVW and under. Recommendations draw on SAE human-factors research on driver reach, control-locating performance, and control-location expectancies.
