Scope
Recommended Practice specifying minimum recommendations for blind-spot monitoring system (BSMS) operating characteristics and driver user-interface elements, including the visual indicator conveying presence of a vehicle in the adjacent blind-spot zone. Applies to OEM and aftermarket BSMS for passenger vehicles; intended as a supplement to mirrors, with no automatic vehicle-control action.
