Breath-Based Alcohol Detection System

Scope

Establishes performance specifications for a zero-tolerance breath alcohol detection system for integration into motor vehicles: accuracy/precision of breath alcohol concentration measurement, ethanol sensitivity, response time, and electrical/mechanical/environmental requirements over the vehicle lifespan. Underlies the DADSS program; applicable to systems with and without a mouthpiece.
