Scope
Recommended Practice giving designers and engineers reference data on the physiological functions of head and eye movement and the perceptual capabilities of the human visual system, so the design and location of rear-viewing mirrors (or systems) and the presentation of the rear view to the driver can be optimized. Provides charts relating vision to rearward field coverage. References SAE SP-279 for fuller treatment of the relationship of vision to forward viewing.
