Scope
Consolidated performance regulation for retro-reflective devices and markings (reflex reflectors and conspicuity markings). Streamlines and supersedes the older reflector/marking regulations (R3, R27, R69, R70, R104) for new types. Specifies the retro-reflective performance that makes a vehicle's outline visible to an approaching driver in that driver's own headlamp light at night, a core conspicuity factor in night-time collision avoidance.
