Scope
Approval of rear fog lamps for motor vehicles and trailers. Specifies the high-intensity red rear lamp that makes a vehicle perceptible to a following driver in fog at a useful distance, while limiting intensity to avoid being mistaken for a stop-lamp. Governs a key rear-conspicuity cue in low-visibility conditions. Performance for new types is now also covered by R148.
