Scope
Specifies reversing technologies (rear camera-monitor systems and detection aids, per UN R158) that increase the driver's awareness and direct vision of road users behind the vehicle when reversing. Directly addresses the driver's rearward field of vision and detection of vulnerable road users in the rear blind zone.
