Scope
Type-approval requirements for vehicles fitted with an Automated Lane Keeping System (ALKS), an SAE Level 3 function that controls lateral and longitudinal motion. Defines the operational design domain (01 series of amendments extended it to M and N categories and up to 130 km/h with automated lane changes), system safety and performance, transition demand and minimum risk manoeuvre, and driver-availability/HMI requirements.
