Scope
Specifies a classification framework for minimal risk manoeuvres (MRM), the response by which an automated driving system performs automated fallback to reach a minimal risk condition. It defines MRM types, the basic principles for deciding which type to perform, and minimum control-strategy requirements and test procedures for the two simplest types: straight stop (type 1) and in-lane stop (type 2). Intended for light-duty vehicles equipped with Level 3-5 ADS; it does not cover detection of ADS failures or the decision to initiate an MRM.
