Scope
Recommended Practice providing terms and definitions describing the functions performed within an automated driving system (ADS) as defined in SAE J3016, dealing primarily with Level 4 and Level 5 ADS features. Captures language already in use in the automated-driving community and adds clarifying definitions for a common reference architecture (sensing, perception, planning, control, and driver/occupant interaction functions).
