Scope
Establishes minimum functionality requirements and the general information strategy for extended-range backing aid systems on light-duty vehicles: detecting and informing the driver about obstacles in the 1.0–5.0 m range behind the rear bumper during reverse manoeuvres. Does not restrict the type of display/notification; excludes short-range parking detection and heavy commercial vehicles.
