Scope
Introduces common concepts for driver performance and state in automated driving, including driver readiness/availability and transitions in both directions (manual-to-automated and automated-to-manual). Applicable to SAE automation levels requiring an engaged or fallback-ready human and levels allowing resumption of manual control.
