Anger and road rage: the emotional state of driver hostility — frustration, provocation, and aggressive emotional escalation toward other road users (state and trait driving anger, Driving Anger Scale, hostile attributions, retaliatory urge). The angry affect and its escalation, distinct from aggressive_driving, which is the resulting overt behavior; from affect_mood, which covers broad emotional tone rather than hostility; and from stress_driving, which is demand-based strain rather than anger directed at others.
