The Mercedes E300 braked sooner when centered than when offset left in most maneuvers. The Volvo S90 also generally braked sooner when centered, with minor exceptions. In contrast, the Nissan Leaf showed no significant difference in braking onset timing across offset positions. Crucially, for Levels 1 and 2 (where adaptive cruise control was active), SV braking onset timing did not appear to be affected by POV offset for any of the vehicles tested.
