individual differences
Between-person variation in cognitive ability treated as a foundational construct in its own right: the fact and structure of stable differences across people in capacities such as intelligence, processing speed, and cognitive aptitude, including how such differences are conceptualized and measured. This is the upstream, domain-general study of why and how people's cognition differs. Unlike executive_function, working_memory, and perceptual_processing, which each name one specific construct, this concerns variation across constructs and people generally; and unlike the driving-specific cognitive_capacity_variation, it stays at the foundational cognitive-psychology level, not how such variation maps onto driving outcomes.
