Age-related perceptual decline: normal aging of sensory and perceptual systems and how it affects driving, including visual degradation (acuity, contrast, useful field of view), hearing loss, and slowed perceptual reaction time in older adults. Narrower than older_drivers (which spans all aging-related driving changes including behavior and exposure) and distinct from mci_dementia_driving (clinical cognitive pathology, not normal sensory aging); the focus is the perceptual/sensory mechanism, not the medical fitness verdict (fitness_to_drive_assessment).
