road complexity

Visual and cognitive complexity of the driving scene: how much information the roadside environment imposes on the driver at once — clutter, number of competing elements, scene density, and the resulting demand on perception and workload. This is about the richness of the scene the driver must process, NOT the number of other vehicles present (traffic_density), NOT the physical curve/grade/alignment of the road (road_geometry), and NOT the layout of any single junction (intersection_design).
