simulator sickness

Simulator sickness: nausea, oculomotor discomfort, and disorientation in driving simulators, the Simulator Sickness Questionnaire (SSQ), cue conflict between visual and vestibular motion, mitigation through motion platforms or scenario design, and dropout and selection effects sickness causes in simulator studies. Sickness produced by the research apparatus, distinct from passenger_motion_sickness_comfort (sickness in real vehicles, especially automated ones) and from simulator_validity_fidelity (whether simulator results generalize).
