cognitive impairment

Non-drug cognitive deficits that degrade fitness to drive: mild cognitive impairment, dementia and neurodegenerative disease, and the cognitive sequelae of acquired brain injury affecting judgment, memory, and executive control behind the wheel. Distinct from physical_impairment (motor/mobility loss with intact cognition), from medical_conditions (systemic disease states such as epilepsy or diabetes), and from post_concussion (acute/recovering TBI specifically); the deficit here is endogenous and neuro-cognitive, not substance-induced like the drug tags.
